i know i’m going to get the HERRRRRDEERRPPPS you bought a mac live with it. but I’ll put it to you like this, I was using mac at uni at the time, no choice for PC based laptops. I’m still using mac at this tafe course, and as it is the graphic design industy standard computer I would have 95% of having corupted files taking it to a pc from a mac. lastly it was my parents gift for getting to uni. so sentimental value.  it irriates the hell out of me when people go “eww you got a mac…” seriously pull your head out of the motherloving ground. there are some industries and teaching collages who use it as standard

seeing the german shep made me teary as i cant have pets where i live.

1. Divide and Conquer! Divide your page up in to fourths! Now cut the bleed print edge this is the waste area of your page. Then cut the forths.

2. Know when to fold them! Start folding your envelopes there are plenty of tutorials out there on google and the best idea if you have a favourite envelope use it as a template!

3.Double or Nothing! With some types of newspaper and magazines you might need reinforce it so double the paper up with the construction of the envelope.

4. Tape!Tape!Tape! Double sided tape I find works best with envies it stays put and hardly moves!

Know I am on the verge of moving again finding a place with my partner so I will not be doing many swaps but I’ll keep people as updated as I can. and swaping whereever possible!

Now Ive started organising for the move using the 3 box techinquie.

i’ve again had my own issues so i’ve stayed of the net for a fairly long time to distance myself from doing something stupid.

so, iv’e moved and them moved out , had a court case, unrolled then reenrolled in a higher education course. got 5 or 6 hair cuts. obsessed over music and bands (at the moment coheed and cambria with a bit of my chem chucked in there)

lets just say its a full house. I WAS working until i was made redunant over not being able to do a shift… urgh. but now i’m getting back into studying and the cost isnt so high seeming as my other half is now here.

one of the bigest issues is that there is often no internet and i can only retrieve emails inbetween uni time. so if you need to contact me use my phone..

nik and i are budgeting 50 buys us food for 4- 5 days its great! this last week we had hamburgers X2 pizza X3 lasagna X2 (X= meals)
plus extras such as garlic bread and juice milk eggs om nom nom nom.

also i did a naughty thing i bought myself a ruffle dress. normally i wouldn’t but it was at wildilocks and a doll Q ruffle dress and there was alot of squeeing and so it was bought, when nik saw it he was calling me kaylee ( firefly) around pretty fluffy dresses. It is alot of love.
anyway i have to go class is over and i’m heading home to get started on a essay about subcultures and the mainstreem.

i helped out at uni it gave me free food! and a 50 gift card (YAY).
It will take me ages to use it. Anyway not the point of the day it was to introduce people to the uni and I’ve always been told hey you can talk to anyone. my answer to that is Yes, I can speak to any one ( looks for bold function THERE YOU ARE!) however there are people in this world who will treat me like i’m 5 to them i will not be nice to.
lets face it if your going to walk on a road in front of cars i will call you a ” low intelligent being on the road of course you deserved to get tooted at”

I also handed out my cards. new shiney cards.
so i thought i’d answer a few questions. so i thought for a laugh i would interview myself. as Karmacrane and Mindchilds

1.Why am i doing design?
2. What i did to get there?
3. how long i’ve been doing art?
4. what my folio was like and is like now?

M: Why hello there Karmacrane how are you?
K: Quite well Mindchilds, i belive you have a few questions to ask of me?
M: Yes a few readers wanted to ask some questions if you could answer them it would be smashing. the first question is why are you doing design?
K: well Mindchilds, Graphic design was not my first choice in a career actually, i can’t remember which came first pilot or entomologist that’s some one that studies insects and bugs. Then it was acting or circus work which actually has come somewhat back out as a fun thing to do and also i did consider being a vet.

But i always new i was a artist and thought (stupidly) i was pretty good at it so i should continue it. everyone always hated my work so i guess it became a I Know i’m better competiton. So i got better and better. still people hate my work (laugh) but you learn to either adapt or die here.

M: So it was pure dedication to it?
K: maybe I’m known to battle at something until i get it. It sound like something hard headed i would do.
M: So what did you do to get to being in a graphic design course?
K: drawing lots and lots of drawing. in year 11 i did studio arts, multimedia i think 3+4, visual communications, I.T which i failed,History and of course english. year 12 i did four folio subjects i dont know how i survived but i did. So every sketch,design,photo I felt awesome about I put together in my folio . for the longest time it was held together by a belt. and of course at first people didnt take to my drawings espicaly the ones of dead fish. like rmit. but i did find a place where the liked my designs being the australian academy of design. i suppose its also a skill to present a folio.
if your confident then you can do anything and get anything to. although if that phrase really worked i’d have a job by now.
M: by a belt? how long have you been doing art?
K: simple question hard answer, the short answer is for as long as i can remember. long answer when i really started to get serious about it year 9 or 10. so roughly to a professional level 6-7 years.
M: so quite awhile then. what was your folio like back when you left highschool?
K: hmm hard question full of a lot of stuff thats for sure. a lot of logo work and just concepts a few photos and way to much research than i needed to show. but it was enough.It was culled down to come to think of it.
M: So whats it like now?
K: neat organised and ready for printing by a publisher.Its all done on a pdf for me to send to people easily too. and i think only 6- 12 of my best pieces.

I have to take someone to Vcat or to a higher level of legality for both defamation and use of my designs without proper reimbursement. its a shame it had to go to this and I would have like it to have be settled out of the court system (very very much is a sigh).

aside from this bad news i thought it good to run a opinion.
